Digital Botany
Botanical illustration lies at the intersection of science and art, allowing the different parts of a plant to be clearly represented in order to facilitate identification, both in the field and in herbarium collections. Chile is home to a highly diverse flora with a high level of endemism, making it particularly compelling to illustrate. Fruits, flowers, leaves, and stems must be depicted in their entirety. The digital format allows for fine-scale detail and is especially well suited to highlighting vibrant colors.
